Empowering Women

Over seven years ago, a Citibank executive requested an interview with me for a book she wanted to write about immigrant women in this country. After years of persistent work, all the while keeping a full time job, Chinwe Esimai will have her book Brilliance Beyond Borders released during Women's History Month! As one of the 17 women featured, I got a preview of the manuscript. WOW! I am both incredibly honored to be part of this group of CEOs, thought leaders, directors, and artists, while at the same time terrified by the permanence of my personal story being in print!

For those of you in the New York City area, who love the high energy of in-person events, seven of us will meet up at the Book Release Party! I will open the program by performing a piece by YCA composer Nina Shekhar. Other guest musicians include "Alsarah & the Nubatones" from Sudan. Guest poet Lynne Procope joins the panel conversations. Help us empower others to show up in the world! Peace, Hsing-ay
